That’s why today’s post is about ceramides. These guys are important for all skin types year-round, but they can be especially helpful for saving your sad, winter skin.

Intro to Extracts – Translating Scientific Jargon to English

I like researching extracts. I spend an inordinate amount of time decoding ingredient lists and then falling down the rabbit hole of reading about all of the cool stuff they can do.

One day, I will absolutely be starting a series spotlighting some of the most common and fun extracts, but for now, I’m going to leave you guys with something that I find to be helpful: another pretty picture.

If I’m being lazy or need a quick reference for a certain ingredient, I like having graphics to share with people or refer back to. People are more likely to remember things when they look cute! …and by people, I mainly just mean me…and I’m projecting onto you guys so I have an excuse for spending too much time making these graphics.

As summer considers rearing its ugly, sweaty head for the year, you’ll probably see posts from me in the near future about sun protection and how I cope with the utter misery that is summer in the South. I’m a “sheet mask every day” kinda girl. Sheet masking helps me with the constant battle I’m fighting against dehydrated skin.

That being said, it can be a bit of an expensive habit if I’m not careful. This is why I’m always on the lookout for inexpensive, decent masks.

Today I’m going to share a couple of the best, most affordable masks I’ve tried.
